Happy Last Week Before Vacation,

     This is not only the last week of school before vacation, it is also the last week of the second quarter. 

     We will have our Family Traditions Celebration on this Friday. Please complete the Winter Celebrations assignment on Flip Grid. We will watch our videos on Friday morning. On Friday students can wear pajamas, but please wear regular school shoes. We will follow the schedule below on Friday.

     This week in math we will complete our work on geometry. Students will take the end of unit test on Tuesday. On Wednesday and Thursday students will work on an end of unit performance task. On this task students will apply all of the skills that they learned during the geometry unit and create a Winter Wonder Geometry Land. All of this work will be completed in class. When we return from winter break we will begin working on our fractions unit. 

     This week in science we will begin studying force and motion. This is a short two lesson unit. We will complete the first part this week and finish up when we return in January.

Wednesday: Science: Complete pages 422-424 in science book

*Module 4 Math Quiz

     

 

     This week in math we will take the PMA #2. The test will cover all of the standards from the first and second quarters. The test will be taken in two sessions. Session 1 will be Monday and session 2 will be on Tuesday. On Wednesday this week we will learn about the different classifications of triangles. Triangles can be classified by their side lengths and angle measures. So when you look at a triangle it can have two names. On Thursday we will review the attributes of quadrilaterals.. On Friday we will begin preparing for our end of module test. 

     This week in science we will finish up our work on energy. The end of unit test will be on Friday. Students will complete their study guide in class on Wednesday and Thursday. 

Monday: Science: Unit 8 Lesson 1 and Lesson 3 Digital Lesson

          Math: i-Ready Complete 40 minutes and Teacher Assigned Lesson

Tuesday: Math: Cut out triangles. Use a ruler to measure the side lengths of each triangle. This is prep work for our lesson on Wednesday.

Wednesday: Math: Complete Lesson 13 Homework Sheet

Thursday: Science: Study for science test.

Friday: Math: i-Ready minutes and Teacher Assigned Lesson due
