This week in math, students will learn how to compare decimals numbers. Our work will still only go to the hundredths place. We will use area models, number lines and place value grids to compare numbers using the <, >,  and = symbols.

Due to a change in district requirements I will now be assigning two lessons each week on i-Ready. Students will still be required to complete 40 minutes, but will not be required to complete a lesson from their path. They may need to work on lessons from their path in order to fulfill the 40 minute requirement.
The lessons that I assign one will come from previously taught content and the other will match the content that we are currently working on in class. Our classes successful completion of this work will result in us earning rewards. The awards list has not been finalized yet, but something like a donut party is being discussed.

Week of March 22, 2021

Happy Tuesday Everyone,

We have definitely had some lion days lately. The wind blew so hard at my house this weekend. It sounded more like a hurricane than a nor'easter. Hopefully we will more lamb days ahead this week.

We are now officially in the fourth quarter. It feels just like yesterday we began the school year with fingers crossed that everything would okay and we would all be safe and healthy.

Please do another supply check with your child. I have noticed that many students are in need of glue sticks, colored pencils/crayons and scissors. During this school year students are discouraged from sharing their supplies with others.

To have a little fun this quarter we will be doing 4th Quarter Dress Up Friday's. Please see the schedule below.

This week in math we will continue learning about decimals. Students will learn how to show the equivalence between tenths and hundredths. Students will represent mixed decimal numbers using area models and number lines. Students will take a quiz on the material from module 6 on Friday.
Students took a cumulative test last Wednesday. The test was taken on the computer. Student grades on the test will be written on the notebook paper that students used to work out problems. You might notice a difference between the grade on the paper and what is posted on FOCUS. I decided to give students the higher grade between what they earned on the test in Freckle and PMA #3. Their PMA score is their score without the three decimal standards that were included on the test. Since we had not yet covered those standards I didn't include them when calculating their grade.
