Week of February 20th

Happy Tuesday Everyone,

I would like to thank everyone that sent in items for our valentines day card exchange. I would also like to thank Mrs. Stone for arranging for us to have a visit from a real dentist for Dental Health Month. Finally thank you to everyone for that participated in Family Science Night on last Thursday. JBE would be nothing without out fabulous families and PTA!!  It is thanks to your support that we as teachers are able to accomplish all of the great things that we do in the classroom.

In math we will continue to learn about decimal numbers. Last week we worked on placing decimals on the number line. Some of the students had some difficulty with this concept. Please have your child visit the following  websites:

for some additional practice. I am also assigning some additional practice on Prodigy. If you notice that your child is still having difficulty please let me know I will also assign some extra lessons on
i-Ready Math.

This week in math students will learn how to order and compare decimal numbers. Lessons have already been assigned on Prodigy and Ten Marks for students to practice.

This week in science students will learn about animal instincts and learned behaviors. We will also spend some time looking at observable traits. Students will bring home an inventory checklist to do with you. This will help them learn how some traits are inherited from our parents.

In social studies student will take a test on chapter 5. We will also begin looking at a time line of Florida History.
