We will be taking school pictures this Friday. These pictures will be used in this years Yearbook.
Math News
This week we will be starting Math Superstars. Students will receive their sheet on Mondays and are due on Fridays. This week we will also begin the fourth investigation in our book Things That Come In Groups. In this investigation we will learn how multiplication and division are related, deciding whether or not to use multiplication or division in a given situation, and learning how to use multiplication and division notation in order to write equations.
Science News
I had planned for us to take the chapter 1 test this week, however the sun did not cooperate for a very important science lesson last week. So instead the test will be postponed until next week. We will have a science quiz on Friday on writing a scientific observation.
Social Studies
This week in Social Studies we will finish up chapter 3 on Native Americans. For a culminating activity that students have been placed in groups for a group report on a Native American Group. On Tuesday each student will bring home the name on their Native American Group. The students will be required to do work outside of class but will never need to get together with the other members of their group. Each student will report on one aspect of their Native American Groups Culture. Students will receive an individual grade based on their individual report.
