I would like to say an extra big THANK YOU to everyone for making my birthday so very special. A special thank you to Mrs. Rai for not only planning the event but also managing to keep it a secret and making the birthday party and treats a surprise.
I would also like to thank those of you that ordered books off of the book order. Thanks to the books that you ordered I was able to earn 1,097 in points to use for ordering classroom materials.
Math News
Today your child should have their Investigation 3 Quiz and the Calendar Math Quiz from last Friday. On the Investigation 3 Quiz each item counted for one point for a total of 28 points on the quiz. For the Calendar Math Quiz I simply took 7 questions from the calendar math activities that we had done all week. As you can see the students made several careless mistakes. In third grade the students are solely responsible for checking over their papers when they finish. This is to prepare them for taking FCAT in the spring. When they take the FCAT I cannot intervene at all. I am not even allowed to look at the test questions.
Science News
The students did very well on their Science Quizzes on Lima Bean Observations. We will take the Chapter 1 test on Seeds and Plants next Friday 10/3.
Social Studies
This week in Social Studies we will review and take the test for Chapter 3 Native Americans. The students’ reports are due this Wednesday.
