Happy Monday Everyone,
The weeks are sure flying by!! In less than a month we will be taking our final FAST Test for 4th grade. In a little more than a month we will be wrapping up our time together. We will complete our final math unit this week. We only have one more math standard to cover in class.
As you may or may not know, Mrs. Selby our wonderful office assistant will be retiring at the end of the this school year. She has been a member of our JBE family for 31 years. There will be a drop in retirement reception of Friday May 19th.
We will have our 4th Grade End of the Year Party on Thursday May 25th. The party will take place in the JBE Bus Loop. Times will be announced soon.
For our party we will be having a carnival. The parents for each 4th grade class will be in charge of running two activities. On the day of the party each class will rotate through each activity. Be on the look out for more information from our Room Parents.

This week in math, we will finish up our measurement unit. We will work on word problems on Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday and Thursday we will review the unit. And on Friday, students will take their test. After we take the unit 15 test we will spend from 5/1-5/12 reviewing for the final FAST Test. We will also spend time finishing up our year long math game project.
Board Game Day |
On Wednesday May 3rd, we will play board games to help us finalize our plans for our individual math games. Students have spent the majority of the year working on their own board games. They have designed their game boards, thought of names, and written questions. We will spend time on May 3rd looking at designs, reading over direction sheets and overall flow of different games.
For this activity we need some board games. If you have any age appropriate board games at your house the we can borrow for the day it would be greatly appreciated. Please use the Sign Up Genius link below so that we can have a list of games. It is okay if some games are duplicated. I just want to a master list so that I can make sure that we have enough games.
For the final copy of the students games, I am planning to give each student a piece of poster board. I am including the link below to a blank game board that I found on Amazon. If you would like to purchase your child a sturdier game board.

In conjunction with our work on metamorphosis, we have been watching the life cycles of butterflies in classroom. All 5 of our larva are now in the pupa stage.
