***Help Wanted***
A parent chairperson volunteer is needed to manage JBE TV Production (a 5th Grade Leadership club). Did you know all our JBE students have access to a weekly TV program (WJBE News) created and produced by 5th grade students? Check out a recent episode at the link below.
To ensure this awesome program continues, a parent volunteer is needed to manage TV Production under the oversight of a teacher sponsor. The program entails assisting the participating 5th Grade students to prepare and execute a weekly news show. Students research for school announcements, weather, school lunch menu, birthdays, and any other things they want to share – joke, sports, etc., write the script from a template, rehearse, then record. This year the research/practice is Monday-Thursday, then recordings take place Friday mornings and episode links sent out to all teachers on Monday mornings. News can be videoed via cell phone, tablet, etc. or in the JBE TV Production green room with A/V equipment (training provided) and put together using any video app (iMovie, Videoshop, etc.). There is flexibility in how TV Production is executed so the Parent Chairperson has discretion to organize in a manner that best works with their schedule (mornings, after school, weekly episodes or more frequent, news content, etc.). This is an amazing opportunity to participate in leading a creative, technical, and exciting program that encourages leadership for 5th Grade students and benefits the entire school. Current Teacher Sponsor is available to answer any questions and provide training/transition support for any volunteer willing to be the JBE TV Production Chairperson. Please email fojbeptopresident@gmail.com for interest or questions.
Play Day is next Monday 5/23. Students are asked to wear their class shirts, comfortable pants/shorts, and tennis shoes. Students should also plan to bring a water bottle so that they will have water. We will be outside for an hour or more. One of our stations will involve water, so students might want to back extra clothes to change into once we come back to the classroom.
