Week of October 31, 2022

Happy Halloween Everyone,

I would like to send out a huge Thank you, to everyone that helped out with our Fall Festival. The students and I had such a good time and enjoyed all of the activities.

We will be going on our very first field trip on Wednesday November 9th!! We will venture to St. Augustine. We will enjoy the Old Town Trolley Tour and learn all about the history of the city. The tour matches our social studies Florida History standards. If you would like to be a chaperone make sure you fill out the chaperone portion of the permission slip when it comes home.  Chaperones must be approved on the DCPS Volunteer List. Chaperones will also be responsible for driving themselves to and from the field trip. Students must ride the bus to the field trip, but may be checked out by you after the activities are over. The cost of the field trip for students and chaperones is $15.00. For field trips we have parents pay the fees using the www.schoolcashonline.com website. When you pay, please write the receipt on the permission slip. If you are interested in being a chaperone please send your child's homeroom teacher an email letting us know your interest. For this field trip we are only allowed 6 chaperones for each homeroom. If more than 6 parents express interest we will draw names out of a hat.
Students are asked to wear their class shirts or a shirt with the same colors; Johnson-Green Lomblo-Royal Blue. Students will also need to bring a lunch packed in a paper or plastic bag with the students name on the outside of the bag.

This week in science, we will continue our unit on energy. Our focus for this week and next is sound energy.
